Guidelines

Article Submission Guidelines

The editorial board of the Agricultural Science and Practice journal submits for publication the articles dedicated both to theoretical and applied researches pertaining to soil science, farming agriculture, crop production, veterinary science, animal husbandry, feed industry, genetics, selection and biotechnology, mechanization, ecology of agriculture, radiology, amelioration, storage and production of agricultural produce, economics and innovations.
The articles, reviews of literature and communications, presented for publication, should have never been published before.
The text is published in English, with abstracts both in Russian and Ukrainian. Since 2015 the online version of the journal ( http://www.agrisp.com) presents the abstracts and references in English.

The document set required for the article registration:


1. To be submitted (sent) in hard copy:

  • One typescript copy in Ukrainian or Russian (including all the tables, charts, drawings and figures), paginated from the first page to the last one. The last page should be undersigned by all the authors of the article.

  • Copyright Assignment Agreement. Each author should fill in and undersign the separate copy of the Agreement, e.g. four authors – four agreements. (The standard pattern of the    Agreement  is available).
    Please note that the Copyright Assignment Agreement enters into force since the moment of the article acceptance. In case the article is declined by the editorial board of the journal, the Agreement will become inoperative automatically. The execution of the Agreement by the author (authors) means that the terms and conditions of the Agreement are acknowledged and accepted by him (them).

  • Covering letter from the institution.

2. To be submitted digitally (either delivered via e-mail or sent on CD/DVD):

  • A Microsoft Word file with a typescript identical to the paperback copy. (The file should be named with the surname of the first author, e.g. orlyk.doc).

  • All the tables, charts, drawings and figures, either full color or black and white, should be submitted in any of standard graphical formats: .ppt, .xls, .psd (e.g. ris1_orlyk.ppt, ris2_orlyk.xls).

  • The authors' credits (file name – e.g. auth_ orlyk.doc) including surnames, first and middle names of all the authors in three languages, at that it is necessary to indicate one of them as a responsible contact person for communication with the editorial board; e-mail and phone number (including area code); also official titles and mailing addresses of the institutions, where the research has been conducted. All the data should be presented in Russian, Ukrainian and English.


The articles should be submitted along with the Ukrainian/Russian-English glossary including at least 30 terms particularly used in the text of the article (file name – e.g. voc_orlyk.doc).

 

Typescript Requirements


The text for publication should be submitted in any of the file formats supported by Microsoft Word, paper format: A4, page orientation: portrait, font: Times New Roman, size: 12, line spacing: 1.5.

The complete size of any article dedicated to research results is limited to 27,000 characters including spaces (~13 pages), a review of literature – up to 50,000 characters including spaces (~24 pages), a communication – up to 12,000 characters including spaces (~6 pages) including the text itself, all the accompanying tables, charts, drawings and figures with legends, abstracts in three languages, keywords and references.

The typescript should contain:

UDC identifier.
Title of the article in Ukrainian, Russian, and English.
Surnames and initials of all the authors.
Title(s) and mailing address(es) of the institution(s) where the author(s) work(s) in three languages.
E-mail of the author responsible for communication with the editorial board.

The text of the article describing research results should consist of “Introduction”, “Materials and Methods”, “Results and Discussion”, “Conclusions”, “Acknowledgements”.
The tables should be entitled and enumerated. Any notes to them should be given exactly below.
The total quantity of figures should be not more than 4 for reviews of literature, 6 in articles on research results, and 2 – for communications. All the lengthy lettering should be replaced with either numbers or letters and explained in the legend.
When referred to any grants, point out the foundation, name and/or number of grant in section “Acknowledgements”.
The references should be compiled in English only and in order of citation. The names of the articles from the periodical publications should correspond to those of the abstracts in English, presented in the mentioned publications. The titles of monographs or articles therefrom should also be translated into English. The transliteration is possible only for the names of Ukrainian/Russian periodical publications (Agrarna nauka i osvita), locations of the publishing houses (Kharkiv, NNC “IGA im. O. N. Sokolovsky”). The list of sources should meet the requirements of the bibliographic standard accepted in the journal (see examples). The references should be enumerated in order of their quoting in the text, where they are marked with the corresponding number in square brackets.
Both hyperlinks and references to websites are strictly prohibited. The sources of citation should be generally available, it is not possible to cite the author’s abstracts.

Well-defined abstracts in English, Russian and Ukrainian should have identical content (at least 1,800 characters including spaces). The suggested structure of the text of the abstract: Objective, Methods, Results, Conclusions, Keywords (up to 10).


Please note

The articles structured against the present requirements will be declined and sent back to the authors neither registered, nor reviewed.
The accepted articles are subject to review by independent experts appointed by the editorial board; thereafter the author will receive the copy of the article along with the reviewers’ remarks. The version of the article amended by the authors and agreed with the reviewers is taken as the final one. It should be undersigned both by the authors and reviewers as “Good for printing”. Thereupon no changes or amendments of the text, tables, charts, drawings and figures are available. The editorial board takes into account the acceptance date of the final version of the article in the course of publication.
If the article is declined by the reviewers, the editorial board will send the written notice to the author via e-mail.
